The objective of this service is to comply with legal requirements which state that any industrial activity must have authorization from the state. Licensing is aimed at obtaining a certificate/permit or license that gives the holder permission to practice the industrial activity for which a request was made.

Who can apply?

Individual and collective Cape Verdeans, residing in Cape Verde, and/or foreign companies, as long as they are registered in the Republic of Cape Verde.

What do I need to apply?

Applicant

Proxy mandatory (in the event the request was made by an intermediary)
Identification documents identification card//Passport;
Tax Identification Number Statement;
Applicants/Partners certificate of nationality, if a foreigner;
Applicants criminal records certificate, if he/she is the manager

How much does it cost?

It varies according to the municipality’s services and inspection cost

Inspection: 0.05% of the fixed capital investments cost and it may not be less than 2,500CVE

If for failure to fulfill the requirements in the law the industrial premises is not approved during the inspection a deadline for compliance will be set and a new inspection will be conducted at a rate of 5,000CVE. If conditions continue not met the rate will increase to $ 10,000CVE.

Observations

In case the company is created at the Casa do Cidadão through Business- in- a- Day, the Statute and Commercial Registry are provided in the application by integrating with Business in a Day companies’ registry, therefore there is no need to present them.

While the submission of other important documents is not mandatory, it is recommended that they get attached to the process as reference for applications monitoring in the BackOffice, especially for complex processes.

An inspection to verify security conditions, hygiene and health as well as compliance with technical standards is required prior to issuing the Industrial License.
