I want to return to Cape Verde
The Cape Verdean citizen who intends to return permanently to Cape Verde benefits, as provided by law, of the exemption of customs duties and excise on a vehicle for personal use for the transportation of persons (tourism), goods and equipment for his home and the exercise of his profession.
What products can be transported with exemption?
- Clothing and personal items;
- Books, tools, instruments and portable appliances, specific to the profession of their possessors;
- Personal jewelry;
- A camera and five rolls of film;
- A camcorder, laptop, and two rolls of film;
- Binoculars;
- A portable musical instrument;
- A portable sound reproduction and sound support;
- A portable sound recording;
- A portable radio reception apparatus;
- A portable television;
- A portable typewriter;
- A laptop computer;
- A cart for children;
- A wheeled cart for sick passengers;
- A bicycle without motor;
- A tent and other camping equipment;
- Sporting goods;
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, or an assortment of these products, provided that the total weight does not exceed 250 grams;
- Two liters of wine;
- A liter of spirits (whiskey, gin, brandy, rum, etc.);
- 0.25 liters of toilet water and 50 grams of perfume;
- An amount of medications corresponding to the needs of the traveler.

I want to start a business/company in Cape Verde
The act of incorporation is made by deed at the Notary Public or private contract.
You can choose to create your company under the scheme “Empresa no Dia” (business on day), whose information is available on the portal.
The deed is mandatory only when capital is held by real estate.
Anyway, it is always mandatory to register with the Commercial Registry Offices at the location of the company’s headquarters.
